Technology Drive 2024

This Giving Tuesday, we want to thank you for considering a financial donation to the Lake Braddock Theatre Boosters. This year, your support will be used to fund upgraded technology. Some of our current technology is not up to industry standards. There is a gap between what FCPS is able to provide and what our students need to excel. The Boosters aim to bridge that gap by purchasing two new 15” MacBook Air computers (MS and HS) as well as a new wireless headset system (HS) and new microphone headsets (MS). As we all know, technology is expensive. Our lofty goal this Giving Tuesday is to raise $5000 in order to make these purchases.

  • 2 15" MacBook Air Laptop Computers

The industry standard for sound technology is QLab. QLab is powerful macOS software for designing and playing back sound, video, light, and show control cues. It's a flexible, reliable, and user-friendly tool used by everyone from SITI Company to Baltimore Center Stage. Unfortunately, LBSS is not able to support MacBooks, so Boosters is going to bridge that gap to allow our students access to this valuable software.

  • Wireless Headsets

We do not currently have enough headsets (HS). We would like to add a bundle that includes 8 wireless headsets and one hub (which allows them all to network together or in two separate channels. This level of simultaneous communication will allow for much more effective backstage information flow during performances. This pack will integrate flawlessly with the existing headsets.

  • Multidirectional Earpiece Mics

The middle school program is in great need of multidirectional earpiece mics for actors. The mics are very sensitive and unfortunately do not have a long life span. With the ever growing middle school theatre program, we just don’t have enough mics to fully support the program.
