Lake Braddock Theatre Boosters

Lake Braddock High School:

Congratulations to Lake Braddock Theatre on an incredible 15 nominations for the 2024 Cappies Awards — including Best Play.

And thank you to the audience of more than 3,500 who attended our production of Romeo and Juliet. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our families, friends, neighbors and community members.

Reviewers said:

”As a whole, this production is nothing short of miraculous. Until the lights came back on, the audience forgot it was a high school show.” - A. Armand, Cappies Critic from Duke Ellington School of the Arts

”Lake Braddock’s take on Romeo and Juliet was vivid, visceral, and bursting with life — immediately immersing spectators in a world full of both tragedy and comedy. It left those in the audience reflecting on the lengths people will go to in the name of true love.” - C. Fletcher, Cappies Critic from HB Woodlawn

Awards will be announced at the Cappies Gala at the Kennedy Center on June 10. A list of the nominations is below:

About the Lake Braddock Theatre Boosters:

The Lake Braddock Theatre Boosters is a parent- and family-run booster organization that supports the theatre programs at Lake Braddock Secondary School, at both the high school (grades 9-12) and middle school (grades 7-8) levels.

We welcome all parents and adult family members of current Lake Braddock students who are involved in theatre — taking classes during the school day, participating in after school clubs and/or productions.

Lake Braddock Theatre Boosters members volunteer in many ways: publicizing shows, chaperoning field trips, managing ticket sales, donating baked goods, selling spirit wear items, arranging meals for students, and much more.
